| Alice Stevenson, BS, TSTA(P)
It is with profound sadness that we report the death of our long-time friend and colleague, Alice Stevenson. Alice died on the evening of Monday, 15 February. She had been suffering from cancer. For many years, Alice co-led the Professional Excellence Workshops - at The Berne Institute and at her own institute, Training Southeast England - in partnership with "Berne" Co-Directors Adrienne Lee and Ian Stewart. PEW attenders - most of them now themselves CTAs and trainers - will remember Alice with appreciation for her clarity of insight, subtlety of intervention and, above all, her irrepressible sense of humour. She was quick to confront where confrontation was needed, but always delivered her interventions with an urbane politeness that honoured the other's OKness. Alice was one of the first recipients of the EATA Gold Medal, presented for "outstanding services to TA in Europe". Our deepest sympathies go to Dick, Alice's husband of many years, and to their family. Alice will be sorely missed. |
