Special Workshop

“Healing History with TA and Family Constellations:
Using The Healing Power of the Past”

A two-day workshop with Jane McQuillin PTSTA(P) and Enid Welford PTSTA(P)
Wed.-Thurs. 22-23 Oct. 2008

Family Constellations is a radically different way of addressing and healing historical issues that are affecting the current generation. It draws on a number of modalities, including TA theory, for its methodology. In this workshop we shall: Our goal in this workshop is to show and teach how therapists can facilitate the generational flow of energy and love, previously blocked by a “Hot Potato”, to the client. This empowering material can readily be integrated with participants’ current TA skills.

Jane McQuillin PTSTA(P) is Principal Trainer at The Lakeland Institute, Ulverston, Cumbria, where her psychotherapy and supervision practice is based. She has many years’ experience in the mental health field. Enid Welford PTSTA(P) is Associate Trainer at the Lakeland Institute. She has a supervision and psychotherapy practice in Manchester. She has extensive experience of working with mentally ill clients in the context of the criminal justice system. Enid and Jane regularly run Family Constellations workshops, and integrate the approach into their practice. They have run several conference workshops integrating Transactional Analysis and Family Constellations.

Attendance credit: for CTA trainees studying at any EATA-accredited centre, the workshop can be logged as 12 hours’ Advanced TA Training. (If you are supervised by Jane or Enid during the workshop, supervision credit can be logged according to standard EATA rules). Berne Institute trainees enrolled on the MSc / PGCD programme can additionally log the workshop for 12 hours’ attendance credit under Core Discipline IV. Professionals or trainees in disciplines outside TA may be able to record attendance as CPD – please check with your own professional organisation. A certificate of attendance will be provided on request.

Location: the workshop will be held at Berne House, 29 Derby Road, Kegworth DE74 2EN. Kegworth is some ten miles south of Nottingham. Our training centre, Berne House, is on the main A6 through the village, one mile from Junction 24 on the M1. If you would like more detailed directions, or a list of local accommodation, we shall be glad to provide it; please contact the Course Registrar at Berne House.

Times: the workshop will run from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on both days, with normal breaks for lunch and refreshments. We provide light refreshments for breaks. Kegworth offers a wide range of restaurants, hotels and pubs for buying lunch.

Fee for the two-day workshop is £150 for “Berne” members, £170 for non-members; non-returnable booking deposit £50 in both cases. (To become a “Berne” member, please send the annual membership fee of £50 to the Course Registrar at the address below. Alternatively, you may become a member by paying this membership fee on arrival at the workshop, in which case you immediately become eligible for the members’ reduction in the workshop fee).
