Coming dates for Therapy Marathons:
Thurs.-Fri. 19-20 June 2008
Thurs.-Fri. 13-14 November 2008
The understanding and experience of group psychotherapy is important for every TA professional and for anyone who works in groups. This therapy marathon experience will be experiential and also a training experience. We will analyse and demonstrate the different styles and processes of leadership and work that can be done in a group setting according to the theory and practice of Transactional Analysis and Process Group Therapy.
Group members will have the opportunity to learn experientially how to create and maintain a safe group setting and boundary; how to use therapeutic language, metaphor and imagery in groups; how to use process contracting; how to do impasse resolution and redecision work in a process group; how to use the whole group to facilitate individual change; how to use the individual to facilitate group change; how to do deconfusion work in a group setting; how to work with the transference and countertransference and how to make closure in a group process.
The Process Group Therapy Training is especially recommended for counsellors and therapists in TA training. It is an opportunity for anyone who is not in training at The Berne Institute to gain group therapy or accredited advanced TA training hours, and for Berne Institute trainees to gain MSc credits for Core Discipline IV. These training events are frequently over-subscribed so early booking is recommended.
Timings: weekend groups: Friday 7 - 9.30 pm, Saturday 9 am - 7 pm, Sunday 9 am - 1.30 pm; weekday groups: first day 9.30 am - 7 pm, second day 9 am - 4 pm.
Fee: £175.00
(booking deposit £75).

One-Day Special Workshop for Couples
Wednesday 23 July 2008
This will be a one-day experiential workshop for couples to explore and experience the vitality of their relationship. There will be structured exercises and opportunities for sharing, developing communication, emotional literacy, and intimacy. Often, with our partners, we get into limiting patterns of behaviour and don’t take the risk or the time to share honestly our feelings, expectations, and yearnings; this workshop aims to provide, through exercises and group process, the opportunity to open our hearts to the vitality of the relationships that are important to us, claiming the pain and the joy, while honouring our self and our partner and our relationship.
Timings: 10 am to 5 pm.
Fee per couple: £165
(booking deposit £75).
